20 Year Old Port
Bright Golden Tawny color. Intense and complex aromas of nutshell fruit and pastry. Flavors of crystallized hat, subtle aniseed notes and masted almonds. Good mouth volume, velvety, long and delicate aftertaste with fresh balsamic notes and graceful hints of chocolate.
The grape bunches are manually harvested to plastic baskets of 20 kilograms and than passed to 500 litters stainless steel containers; the bunches are then 100% de-stemmed and musts fermented in 20,000 liter stainless steel vats, at controlled temperature. The resulting wines are aged for different periods of time in large chestnut and mahogany old barrels. Then the blend is made with wines that, on average, have aged for 20 years, which is then stabilized, filtered and bottled.
